How can I find practically permanent nail polish?

Jordan Thomas carries Axxium Soak Off Gel Lacquer. This will keep your polish looking flawless for up to two weeks or more without the damage associated with other enhancements. Ask your nail tech to introduce you the line - available in assorted OPI colors!

How can I wake up sleepy, winter hair?

Schedule with your stylist to get your hair “dusted” (trimmed) this winter to get rid of dead ends and flyaways. The results will leave you with shiny, healthy looking hair.

How can I keep my hair conditioned in the moisture-robbing months?

Set up an appointment for our 30-minute conditioning process, using L’Oreal Professionnel Richesse, and you’ll walk away with super shiny hair and an extra boost of volume.

What is the best way to make my hair softer and/or stronger?

Your best bet is to schedule an in-salon mask treatment, using Unite Eurotherapy’s deep conditioning masks SOFTA® and STRONGA®. Ask about which mask is best for your skin type at your next visit.

Why does my hair look so heavy?

A great way to lighten up the feel and look of your hair is to add layers and texture. Our stylists can help eliminate the weighted down look with short layers, angles and anything in between.

What kind of training do your stylists have?

At Jordan Thomas, we strive to always provide the latest and greatest in techniques and trends. Throughout the year, each stylist attends training events and continuing education courses, as well as seminars and events held in the salon with top industry experts.

How do I get more lift in my hair?

In addition to adding layers to add lift and volume to dull, flat hair, we also carry a variety of lightweight products which add lift when styling - just ask your stylist what product will work best with your at-home styling technique. Your best bet? Mixing a little bit of layers and a product to match for the volume you crave this time of year.

How often do I need a trim?

At Jordan Thomas we recommend both men and women have their hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks. If you are growing out your hair, we recommend trimming approximately 1/4 of an inch in order to prevent dead or split ends.

Do bangs work with curly hair?

Absolutely! However, it is important to remember bangs should be cut longer to allow for shrinkage when dry. To learn more about what kind of bang will best fit you, as well as some insider tips, schedule an appointment with a Jordan Thomas stylist today.

What highlights go with my hair color?

If you are looking for a color that compliments your features, yet is still subtle and simple, stick to colors that match your skin tone and complexion. If your not sure if you have the perfect match be sure to ask at your next appointment!

Does Jordan Thomas participate with any hair donation organizations?

Yes! Jordan Thomas encourages men and women to participate with hair donation organizations such as Locks of Love and Beautiful Lengths. Hair length requirements vary based on the organization and can be anywhere from 8-12 inches. For more information call the salon and ask a stylist.

How long does Jordan Thomas recommend hair to be before getting a wax?

In order for the wax to adhere best, we recommend that hair be at least 3/4 of an inch before coming in for your next wax. If you're not sure, just remember it is always better to be too long than too short. Hair that is excessively long can be trimmed before to ensure the best results when waxing as well.

What is a Brazilian Keratin treatment?

At Jordan Thomas, a Brazilian Keratin treatment is a revolutionary way to eliminate frizz and curl while still leaving hair soft and healthy. The refinement treatment takes two to three hours in the salon.

Why is a massage physically and mentally important?

Stressed? Sluggish? Achy? While a massage provides physical relaxation, it can help relieve mental and emotional stress as well. Some of the benefits you may not have considered include increased blood flow, the release of toxins from tense muscles, increased mobility of the neck and shoulders, improved lymphatic drainage, relief of anxiety and tiredness, and improved alertness and concentration.

What is a Forever French nail?

For those who love the look of a French manicure but want a more subtle approach, the Forever French nail uses pink and white gel before being buffed to a shine. Maintenance is similar to a regular French manicure.

What brand of hair extensions does your salon recommend?

Jordan Thomas uses Great Lengths. This popular brand uses human hair and feels and looks natural. The method is a special bonding agent, applied to small sections of hair. It allows you to brush through your hair, shampoo and even swim. A complimentary consultation is always recommended to determine what length and fullness would be best for you.

How often should I get a facial?

Ideally, facials should be done every four weeks, especially if treating breakouts and/or
oily conditions, but not extended longer than every eight weeks to keep the skin behaving at its best.

Are there any times I should avoid getting waxed?
  • If you currently take Accutane, or have stopped less than a year ago.
  • You use Retin-A, Retinol, or any alpha-hydroxy products.
  • You recently got Botox or collagen injections –
waxing should not be done in that area.
  • Receiving chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
  • No leg waxing if you have varicose veins.
  • You have been in direct sunlight for a long period of time or tanning bed within the last 24-48 hours.
Why does my skin get oilier and break out more in the summer?

Summer is a great time of year but it can also bring oily skin, blackheads and breakouts.
The most important thing you can do is keep your skin clean by using Bioelements Spotless Cleanser or Decongestant Cleanser with warm water. Use only water-based, oil-free or non-comedogenic cosmetics. Our estheticians can recommend a lotion and can add ingredients to custom your lotion to limit the production of oil which will leave your skin "shine-free" and break out less often.

What is the best hair style for the shape of my face?

ROUND FACE
This face has about the same width as length. If you have a round face, you want to elongate the face and give it more definition. Longer lengths (below the chin) with face-framing layers work great. A deep side part also creates a slimming illusion.

HEART FACE
This face is wider at the forehead and narrower at the chin and jaw. A deep side part with a chin length cut balances this facial shape. Keep the style soft and add long layers around the face. Small bangs also provide a nice dimension.

OVAL FACE
In this well-proportioned face, the length is about one and one-half times the width. What a treat to have this face shape because you can wear almost any style.

SQUARE FACE
This face is defined by wide cheekbones, a broad forehead and a wide jaw line. Off-center parts and face-framing layers work wonders with this facial shape. Rounder bangs help to soften the edges.

PEAR FACE
This face is wider at the chin and jaw and narrower at the forehead. Width and height balance this out. Bring attention to the eyes by adding volume at the crown.

LONG FACE
This face has a length that is longer than width is wide. Shorter, chin-length layered styles with a wide bang help to add necessary width to a very elongated face.

LARGE NOSE
Keep hair longer and add soft layers around the sides and the top of the head. Pair with soft bangs.

VERTICAL OR HORIZONTAL
Quickly access your face by viewing it vertically and horizontally. If it moves to much either direction, you should compensate with a cut that leads your eye the opposite way. For example, if yours is too narrow, ask your stylist to build width into the hair style. If your facial shape is too wide, you want to add more height.

WIDE FOREHEAD
To balance the dominant width, consider bangs that are cut just long enough to balance the width of the face.

NARROW FOREHEAD
Extend the width of the forehead with bangs that are cut back somewhat.

THICK NECK
Soften a less than swan-like neck with long layers and soft movement in and around the neck area.

NARROW NECK
If you think this is an unattractive feature, try cutting your hair to just above the shoulders, layering or bobbing it.
